Grants play a crucial role in offering vital financial support to qualified donees and local charities with a primary focus on enhancing the community of Onanole.

Grant Objectives

  • Support family well-being.

  • Promote development of children, youth, adult, and senior programs.

  • Assist and promote the arts, culture, heritage and sports activities.

  • Advance education.

  • Support and advance the provision of medical services.

  • Support social programs.

  • Support and advance other community activities or facilities of a charitable nature.

Before applying, please ensure that your organization and project meet our Community Grant eligibility and criteria. If you have any questions please email us!

Eligibility

  • Your organization must have a registered charitable number from Canada Revenue Agency or be a qualified donee to apply for a Community Grant.

  • You may apply for a Community Grant once per calendar year. An exception will be made to accept a second application from an organization where it is collaborating with another community non-profit(s).

  • An organization may not apply for any type of Community Grant if it has an outstanding Community Grant. You must submit a satisfactory report from your previous Community Grant before submitting a new Community Grant application.

  • Applying for a Community Grant does not preclude you from applying for a Special Program Grant in the same calendar year, but it must be for a different project.

Criteria

  • Grants are usually not made to:

    • Support ongoing operating expenses of established agencies;

    • Governments.

  • Grants are not made to, or for:

    • Individuals;

    • Project Costs related to activities undertaken before the date of the application or Board Decision;

    • Annual Fundraising campaigns, positions, or events;

    • Pay down mortgages or reduce deficits;

    • Political activities;

    • Exclusively religious activities;

    • Other grantmaking or scholarship/ award programs.
